Texas Engineering Solutions, LLC Becomes Certified Minority-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) with COA

On January 12, 2011, Texas Engineering Solutions (TES) became certified as a Minority-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) and is now eligible to participate in the City of Austin’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) Procurement Program.

Attaining MBE certification is an important milestone in our company’s long-term growth plan, and as a newly certified MBE (Hispanic), we will actively participate in the City of Austin’s procurement process. Home sales contracts rise for 8th straight month (CNN)

The number of signed sales contracts to buy homes rose in September for the eighth straight month, according to a real estate industry report released Monday.
The September Pending Home Sales Index from the National Association of Realtors (NAR) spiked 6.1% to 110.1, consolidating a 6.4% gain in August. It was the index's highest level since December 2006, when it stood at 112.8.

County holds homebuilders to stricter codes (Hays Free Press)

Homebuilders in unincorporated Hays County will soon have to certify with the county's Environmental Health division that new and substantially expanded single-family houses pass a three-part inspection for compliance with building codes.

In 2007, the Texas Legislature began requiring builders to report foundation, framing/mechanical and final inspections to the Texas Residential Construction Commission, which could fine builders who did not comply within 10 days of a home's completion. But that agency was "sunsetted" out of existence by the Legislature this year and its authority to collect inspection reports delegated to counties that choose to require them.
